I don't like to bash Republicans or Democrats, but I was completely shocked when a Republican, in the middle of Obama's address, called out the President in the middle of his speech. Emmanuel AND McCain demanded he apologize to the president. This is basically what went down during the speech:
Obama: "I will not be giving reform to those who are here illegally."
Joe Wilson: "YOU LIE!"
Obama: (again, if looks could talk - "Really, Joe? At a public presidential address? Really?")
It was a ridiculous outburst and while he apologized for it I feel that it may rally Democrats and Republicans closer to a common goal on Health Care reform. |

Apparently there will be a conference call at roughly 10:15. *glances at the clock* Meaning that Marvel's assimilation into the Disney empire is already underway.
Is this a good thing? I don't think so, however, I can say it's better than whatever Hollywood would churn out.

As a writer, one must be able to take criticism. It hurts. You will be better for it tomorrow, whether you heed the critic's judgment or you simply let it remind you that you can't please everybody.
I'm not above believing some critics should speak their mind, less the mistakes of the story teller continue like a bad rainy day. Yeah, yeah, bla bla, emo, you're saying. Well, this is what the journal is here for: for my posts and thoughts I'm having, whether they are happy or frustrated thoughts or just musings here and there.
Sure. I need to write more. I could stand to read more books and more quickly, too. I am easing myself back into the writer that has been silent for so long throughout my adolescence and early adulthood. |

Well, it seems as though some things weren't meant to last. It's okay. I have realized it is for the best. I am also coming into my own more and more as the years pass, finding my unique strengths. The more pain you endure, the more you realize the things that truly matter. And that, in time, you'll find what's right and best for you.
Ah, vague live journal entries... how I love thee! Those whom I'm close with, friends and family, will know some of the things this entry is referring to.
In the mean time, I'm going to be focusing on writing and on the various role playing games I'm running.
Sailor Moon became a quick instant favorite for the players, which took me by surprise. The team is slowly starting to trust each other, which is good! I wish certain characters would interact more but I realize its their play style, so I will have to wait it out and have faith in them. I think the concepts are unique, just as the archetypes are in the show the games based around, so I am expecting great things from this game. It's creative, fun, laid-back, and still choked full of drama and romance.
The other game I have been running is Final Fantasy. At first, I had my doubts. I mean, let's not forget how many Final Fantasy games I have ran in the past. This game has had five or six sessions, in the least, and has great characters, all with real emotions. Each character lives his or her life in accordance with their own code or ethos. There's already something at stake for every one of the characters. It's how a good game should be!
Also, I think these games are not only fun for me, but exciting and entertaining for the players too!
I still have Angel, Marvel, Wild Arms, Star Wars, and Seishin X (anime game), but those are on the back burner these days. I'm letting them simmer in exquisite plot sauce and will come back to them in a little bit. It's good to take a break sometimes.
I'm heading out to a friend's for a while. Apparently, I'm supposed to... be on time? Yeah, every day should have a challenge built in, right? Makes it more fun, or so they say. |

Much has happened between when I last updated and today's date. Here are some updates regarding friends and family:
Ashby: He has moved onto greener pastures - he moved last summer and left the cack in his place. Damn you, Ashby! >:o On another note, the chin man has graduated Virginia Wesleyan! I'd give him a better gift but he stole my graduation dog like six times, so he'll get a pepsi and he'll like it! It's okay because I hardly see this joker anyways! *shakes a fist* Damn you, Ashby... damn you.
Okay, now that I'm done damning Ashby, let's continue. :p
Tim: Well, this guy has come a long way since Farm Fresh, the place of our fateful meeting oh so many years ago. Tim is doing very well in school and making the best of his scholarships and grants. Also, Tim is still the zany oracle-loving bread-man we have come to appreciate.
*I never see these jokers anymore, but it'd be fun to hang out sometime. Maybe if I take cadbury or Tim's noodles and broccoli hostage...
Drew: The cack has moved in as of last year. It has been fun, what with House marathons and gaming. Thankfully, the WoW'age has decreased significantly and I have the absence of orcs and elves have produced a more chill Drew. WOOHOO! Now, if he could just stop buying 400.00 chocolate jellies, then we'd be groovy.
Now, here's a big reason behind the World of Warcraft boycott:
Jess: I'd met her once when she came to Virginia and got us addicted to Nip Tuck, er, I mean, visited Drew. At first, she was shy about gaming but now it looks like she's getting as bad as the rest of us. Mwaha. *Emperor Palpatine voice* Her journey towards the dark side is almost complete. Oh wait, she's not going evil, her in-game brother is. *cough* Jess is also helping Drew to work on some of the things he's needed to work on for some time. Truth be told, those things come into perspective once you've lived together with a woman. Not to say the I'm perfect either, but people get what I'm saying.
Chris: Chris hasn't changed much, but I'm glad that no matter what we squabble about, whatever it is about dies in ten minutes and we're joking about something or singing to some classic song (usually the 'Alcohol song' or 'I love this bar'). Now, sappiness aside, if he would throw away some of those damn character sheets from games we ran five years ago I'd be ecstatic. :p Oh yeah, and apparently he's got a date. He won't tell me who or where. It's as if he doesn't trust me with that knowledge. *whistles*
Richard and Rachel: I'm thankful to be getting to know these two friends better. I used to see them at Jerome's for Buffy every now and again. Now this couple comes to hang out or game whenever we've got on one the books, or even if it's spur of the moment. Rachel, however, has a load ass phone ringer, and Richard works 'til late, but they are some cool folks!
*Important note: That means we have two girl gamers in the group! *gasp* When Dany arrives, that will make a third one. Yaaay!
Dany: Danyelle (Dany) is my girlfriend and my inspiration for my new spark of creativity. What is there to say about this woman? Well, she's clumsy, nerdy, and has a temper, but what can I say? I love her with all my heart. She's my geeky girl, don'tcha know. For Firefly fans, she is a cross between Zoey and Kaylee, if you can imagine such a concoction of a human being. XD

As far as changes with my life, obviously I have found the best girl ever. I knew she'd be the last place I'd think to look (now, now, South Dakota does have a mall, I've seen it!). I'm also now employed by GEICO. I knew I'd work for a cartoon lizard one day! I still have to deal with crazy, ignorant coostamers, but Captain Coostamer's job is never complete. Maybe I'll finish that novel. *cough* One day... one day!

Ah-hah! I told people I'd update. And here I am, updating away.
It's been a while since I last updated. What is new with me? First of all, I just got done with my response paper for Aristotle. It wasn't that bad at all. (Watch me get a 1.3 on the response. Carstens needs pop-quizzes even horny manatees can pass.)
That said, I should also like to point out that I've got one more year of classes. That's right. Then I'm officially out: an adult, on my own, paying everything myself. It's kind of scary but I really am looking forward to it.
Secondly. Ashby and I are getting a townhouse. It's going to be awesome. 'Specially wednesday nights and thursday. *coughs* But in all seriousness, its going to be good because Ashby needs to experience this just as I had to, and I think he's ready to be on his own (well, y'know, living with a room-mate, but thats still "on your own").
I'm getting back into writing again. That may sound crazy, since I'm supposed to be starting that "novel I've been workin' on for 3 years". School and other things, stresses, and not being able to focus, have led to my procrastination and swaying from my goal of writing. But now I'm doing all in my power to write more and more, and hopefully it will get to the point where I'm writing every day.
And lastly, I'm addicted to Heroes. Seriously, it is a great series, from the few episodes I have seen. Every one of them has had a lot of good, but also a lot of bad, which is part of the attraction. I'm tired of shows these days either giving the hero everything and more, or basically screwing them every time they appear. It's nice to have the variety and the character depth.
I've also got my parents into it. *grins and gives a peace sign* I've got to run one, but I've got my Rule of Three which I shall not break or Ashby will just plaster a gigantic poster of Kermit to my face next time I see him. That, and Chris will do the Nelson laugh, which might hurt my ears. That and its so on the mark, its scary. *cringes* Then again, coming for the dude with Rite of the Valkeryies as his theme song, I'm not surprised.

Alright, journal. It's been over a year! I think I'm going to start writing stuff down in you. But this time its going to be different. Right now, I'm going through a lot in my life. There are some things people know and some that they don't; both are equally as hard to deal with and find out the answers to. So I'm going to either write down story ideas, bits of philosophy I come across or what I'm feeling about a particular issue at the moment. I'm not positive I'll remember but I'm going to try. I need to get these thoughts down somewhere. |

I received a call from W-corp at 9 this morning. It was Mr. Shirley and he was like, "Yeah, I know you have school but we don't have anyone for main, can you come in for the closing shift? 'Kaythanksbye". Needless to say, I'm not going in. I'd consider it normally, but with me feeling like crap, I'm not going to deal with W-corp today. Why am I even updating about all this? I've got one final day of Spring Break left. I spent it hanging with my friends and chilling in the comfort of my own home. I finished the second book in the Death Gate Cycle called Elven Star. So, once more, I have returned from Laurien's house. *Yawns and stretches* First things first. She got this AWESOME haircut. I LOVE IT. When I actually arrived, we headed to Giant so we could see Tiffany while she slaved away at the infernal place of employment. Yes, I just said 'infernal'. >_> Which means it has something to do with being the devil. RANDOM NOTE. It's 4:44 and I just made a wish! =D See, that's better than the straw-wishing game. Because you always end up with the knot more than half the time. The clock one has much better odds 'cause there's no damn knot to worry about. XD It's fun, though. So yes, we ate at Ruby Tuesdays. I practically died after eating one third of my chicken and broccoli with cheese pasta. We talked and in general, had a good time, then we left to make Rice Crispy Treats. Only thing was, Tiffany felt tired so the urge to make delicious treats of rice ran away. Feel better, Tiffany! =) HOWEVER. Laurien and I did sit out in her yard and look up at the stars. That really made me smile. *happy sigh* And then, she showed me several locations around town that were special to her and played songs that had meanings behind them. I love learning about this girl, but I've said that like eight million times! I didn't wanna go but we said we'd definitely meet up again before she goes off to Disney. There will be hell to pay, though, if I don't get a picture of my baby with Aladdin. *grins* So, in length, I had a WONDERFUL time again. I enjoy every moment I spend with her. I've known her for a few months and we've been together only a short time. Yet, whenever I see her get online or she calls or I'm able to visit her, my mood sky-rockets and I'm bubbling with smiles all over the place. And, I have this feeling inside that this is where I'm meant to be. With Laurien, the lovelight of my life. *happy sigh and hops towards the bed like a bunny*
GO MUSH! XD *cheers for the sweetness and then slinks under the sheets of his heating blanket*
On a final note, let us toast to Ashby, who is working an early shift tomorrow! May he uh... drink loads of coffee and not kill me later for his evil Wednesday that is to come. Surely, it must be vb20's handiwork. >.> |
